Art of Lashes

Flipping through SPUR's July 2009 issue to find these and become ab-so-lutely enchanted.

I am especially lusting after the "goldglam leaves" (2nd page) and "snow twists" (last page). I will have to think about it twice, though, since you get each for 8,400JPY, which sums up to about 60€/85USD, lol. But I def think about it, or find me some less expensive but just as nice ones (probs more of the latter ^__^). Pimping up eyelashes is just too much fun.

Since you asked for more Japan-rants, and there is a lot to rant about haha, here is another small one. I went to the cinema some time ago, first time in Japan, and was overly confused when the credits at the end began scrolling down and... people would just stay still in their seats and watch them scrolling down. I thought, okay, that's nice, and kinda polite to the dudes who made the movie, uh-huh - not like we rude Europeans who would instantly leave the cinema as soon as the credits appear. But when we finally got out and my Taiwanese friend told me how confused she was at the end when nobody moved until the credits were done scrolling, I knew it's not me. It's them!

Do you stay for the credits?

Yes that is totally weird! I went to Japan last summer and went to watch Indiana Jones with my mom who is Japanese. I was the only American in there and I also was wondering why everyone just sat there but I didn't think too much of it because there wasn't that many people there anyways so I didn't notice it too much. I started to get up and leave and I noticed that people started to get up and leave only after they saw me leaving haha. I don't know why though :D

Yeah, the first time I went to the cinema there that happened. We just sat till everyone got up. Then the next time I went I had to quickly go catch the last train home so I just got up, and once I did everyone else did. The thing is no one wants to be the first to stand up. Its a politeness/shyness thing.

Me and my best friend always stay for the credits! You'd be suprised how many times there is a last scene after the credits! Really, I'm not kidding. Sometimes it's even a very important scene. (btw, I live in Belgium, not Japan :))

Hehehe, I never stay for the credits... unless it's really busy and everybody gets up at the same time, I wait until the crowd has moved a bit.

Anonymous, ya, but with some movies, you just KNOW that there wont be any clips at the end and this was so obviously one of them. Comedies often have that and for those I stay too. However, after a certain point even they have a part when nothing else comes anymore. Then its def time to leave!

Marisa, Hailey, its also because they didnt turn the lights on when the credits came rolling in, like they use to do (in Germany and the US at least), so I would have had to stumble through the dark and probably fall or something similarly stupid haha.

I don't stay for the credits...but my husband said when he lived in Los Angelos, people stay for the credits because they know the people in the credits...
